Sometimes it's difficult to get through the workout

I think I just need to vent a little, but with that being said... Some days the work out is just hard! I love going to the gym. I just recently started lifting and I do cardio 5-6 days/week. Some of my cardio is very brisk walking (4-5miles/hour) at home and some is at the gym, usually the ellipitical. I really do enjoy it, but there are times that I start and am maybe 10 minutes in and I am thinking "why did I do this today?!" and actually think about cutting my time short. I always end up hearing myself say "You got this" or "You CAN do this" and I always finish. I feel great after, but I wonder if other people actually think the same thing. Thanks for listening!

You are working out to much. You need at least 2 days of rest each week, in my opinion. And your feeling like that is your body telling you it need to rest.0

i definitely do and i do exactly what you said - tell myself i can do it and that it's all in my head that i want to stop. i've also learned to accept that i'm not a morning workout person (i'm not much of a morning anything person actually!) so i exercise in the evening and don't worry about it. and i always figure that even if it's a tough day and i'm struggling to get through it, anything i do is better than quitting and doing nothing so i just get through it as best i can. usually i'm the most proud of myself after one of those tough "i don't want to do it" days so i actually end up grateful for the opportunity to prove to myself that i'm stronger than i think.0

I always have that little "lazy bug" buzzing in my hear giving me excuses not to work out or excuses to eat junk. I just picture a giant fly swatter that I like to call "determination" and kill it0

Two things. 1. Make sure you are getting enough rest. If you are working out 6 days a week, maybe you need another day off or to change your intensity on one of the days. Maybe do yoga or something more gentle.
2. Keep a log of how you feel before, during and after your workouts so you can start to recognize paterns for when you feel this way. I started doing this and quickly started to realize that on my short run days I always used words like lousy, bad and so-so to describe my runs while on long runs I used words like great or awesome or "I could have kept going". Turned out, I'm not properly warmed up on short run days, so it could be something like that that is getting at your will.
Also make sure you are properly hydrated.0
