Stuck with inches AND weight.

I have been thinking that my weight has been stuck for only this week, but when I looked back, I realize it has been two weeks since I lost any weight. In fact, I am up from my lowest weight so far and I've stayed there :grumble:

On 4/30, I was 298.8. Since then I've gone back up to 300-301 and I have not been able to shake it. My profile is older than I've been here, I started on April 1st, so I'm pretty new. I wasn't really getting frustrated or anything until I saw it had actually been two weeks rather than the one. I have gone over my calorie limit I think twice in the last two weeks, by a couple hundred (yes, I eat enough, I'm at 1700 cals per day and I eat back my exercise calories.) I am usually not concerned with weight and more with inches, but that brings me to my next point...

I have lost 3 inches off my bust and 2 off my waist. I have lost exactly zero off of my thighs and hips. I have also not lost any inches recently with the exception of a 1 inch decrease in my bust. My measurements were/are:

Bust: 44 start, 41 now
Waist: 48 start, 46 now
Hips: 59 start, still 59
Thigh: 35 start, still 35

I am walking quite a bit now as most of my cardio is walking with some jogging here and there, as well as increasing my NEAT. Could it be possible I'm not losing inches because of how much walking I'm doing, or because maybe I'm just a very classic pear shape and have trouble slimming down in that area?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Two weeks of no loss is within the normal weight fluctuations you see when losing. Unfortunately, our bodies hold onto water weight because of sodium, hormones, exercise, stress, etc.

It's also unfortunately true that we can't control where the weight comes off first. If you're a classic pear shape then your body will take the fat away from your top half before it gets to the bottom. Trust me, I understand the frustration there, but all you can do is keep exercising and see what happens to your body next!

It is fairly normal to not lose any scale weight for a few weeks. I have stalled for several months at a time, it will pass. It may be water weight, do you keep track of your sodium?

I also have had trouble with my lower half not losing as quickly as the top. Again, just keep going and you will start to see progress. You may want to switch up your exercise routine, that may cause a small initial gain but cause you to start losing again. I was stuck for months until I added kettlebells, now I am losing again.

Just hang in there, the patience is the hardest part.

Those are valid points. I just didn't think I'd stall this early in my weight loss. I do keep track of my sodium and when I have high sodium days, the next day my weight will be at 303-304ish, but with lots of water it goes back down to 300-301.

I guess I was worried over nothing, but I just wanted to see if others had experienced it early in their weight loss, too.

Thank you! I appreciate it :flowerforyou:
