Hi all, my name is Ashley, I am 24 years old and struggling with my weight. I am 5'3 and 155.6 pounds
Here is a little about myself.
Last year, my weight was consistently 165 pounds and at one point it spiked to 170 and I decided that enough was enough.
I had the hardest time actually figuring out why my weight was so high, I barely ate food and the food I ate was not really bad though I did have a pretty sedentary lifestyle spending most of my time surfing the net and playing video games.
I joined my fitness pal a while ago and found out that I was averaging about 800 calories per day which was too low and most of those calories was from soda. I did not really eat breakfast or lunch just mainly dinner. Learning to eat breakfast and lunch was actually kinda difficult, more than it really should have been so I started on nutrisystem for a few months to break the meal skipping habit.
I lost 10 pounds on nutrisystem which is actually pretty bad considering the length of time I was on it. Speaking to my doctor I have no thyroid conditions or anything so he prescribed me 2 months of Phentermine to try to jumpstart my metabolism which allowed me to lose another 10 pounds. (however my exercise during this time was sporadic and I went back to meal skipping so it was a waste I could have lost more)
So here I am now. I have gained 5 of the 20 pounds I lost back. I do zumba about 4-5 times a week at home averaging 450-500 calories per session. My caloric intake is about 1200. (I like buttered wheat bagels for breakfast) No more soda unless its from my sodastream and even thats rare. I am not drinking as much water as I should opting for crystal light. However the scale is not moving. Its not moving up or down.
I figured maybe it has something to do with a lack of muscle. I do not strength train much.
