Out of action :(

So I had to have a minor op and due to that and the dressing and the silly medical advice I was given I can not exercise for at least a week! Im itching to exercise already as was going to start the shred again this week! Did day one and now can not do the rest! :( So as it was on my leg I figure I can still do some arm weights possibly abs depending on whether its painful or not. If anyone can recommend any arm weight routines or some sedate ish upper body workouts it would be great!
Also anyone whos been out of action for a while is it hard to get back into exercise?
Ive found Im at the stage where I enjoy exercising and without it Im in a foul mood! So im hoping ill get straight back into it!

Perhaps try a google search for upper body workouts, or look on pinterest if that's your thing.

I stopped exercising for a while - had a minor back injury and a torn calf muscle. Just started (very slowly) getting back into it; I could have started last week, or even the previous week, but struggling for motivation. Unfortunately I let it become an excuse to eat badly too, and now I'm really disappointed with myself!!!

Hope you recover from your op quickly and can be back into it soon.

To answer your question, yes, it can be difficult. Patterns can be hard to break, and that includes bad patterns.
However, one week of inactivity isn't going to be habit forming. You'll get back into it fine. If you said 3 months or something, it would definitely require a lot of the will power it required to first start on your journey. But after only a week away, you'll still be ready to get right back into the thick of it.
