I ran my second half marathon on Sunday and I feel like I could eat absolutely anything and everything in my path! Any tips? Or any explanation as to why?

No, unless you didn't properly fuel your body beforehand. Then again you just burned a gazillion calories and your body needs to be refueled.

    Well done, btw! :)

I'm running my second 1/2 if June.

You felt that way during the race, or you feel that way now?

I have no advice, but I was the same way. It did not happen after my 13 mile training run, but it did happen after the actual race. (and it wasn't because I went faster in the race...I actually did the training run faster, because it was a Disney half and there were lots of photo opps...lol!) Good luck with trying not to eat everything in sight! It will go away after about a week...

If you're hungry, eat! You just taxed your body quite a bit and it deserves some fuel. I didn't have that issue when I did my first (and only so far LOL) half. But, I ate a TON of food that day. The next day, I was OK. I ate almost 3,000 calories the day of the race though - I burned over 1400 in the race itself.

    Thanks for replying everyone!

I feel that way now - was absolutely fine the day of the race - didn't even have an increased appetite. Was very sensible with my training and fuelling my body properly - I'm just guessing it's tiredness but wondered if I was alone in it!

daelu - thanks! good luck in yours :)
