I am trying to figure out how to convert the 17 day diet into my plan/goals but I am not sure what the percent of protein/carbs/fats are allowed. Has anyone figured this out? does that even make sense?

I have done the 17dd on my own and lost a considerable amount of weight but I'd like to get the last few lbs off and I am having trouble staying motivated, so I thought keeping track might help.

My understanding is that it doesn't really work like that - ie like the zone which has set %s, or Atkins where you have to eat below a certain number of carbs.

You are changing the % protein, carb and fat you're eating every 17 days and this works much more on the basis of allowed and not allowed foods - so it's sort of maths-free.

Still, no reason why you can't apply your choice of % to your macros on this site. Or simply monitor them to make sure your carbs aren't getting too high.

As for actually setting those macros, that depends on your goal and others could help you with that.

Well done on losing the weight. I found the diet really helpful and flexible. Shame about the title - it normally brings out a load of people who think that it's a diet that lasts seventeen days only. Eye roll.

I have done a modified version of the "17DD" for over a year. I have celiac disease so it's fairly easy to keep my carbs in check, but I am human, I have bad days and there are many gluten/wheat free foods that taste way too good.. :frown:

I contracted lyme disease about 2.5 years ago and in 1 year my weight went through the roof, which freaked me out cause i've always been on the thin side. Once I started getting treatment the weight started coming off and in a little over a yr I've lost almost all the weight I gained, on diet alone. I was too sick to exercise, I am finally doing a ilttle better but I still have bad days so I really have to keep my diet under control.

I have been slacking over winter and while I havent gained any weight, I have only lost a couple of pounds, I really wanna kick it in gear before summer actually gets here and take the last 20 off. Whether it kills me or not lol

I have the 17dd book but I guess if I really sat down and calculated based on the portions allowed for each phases I could come up with something to plug in this matrix.

Wow, poor you. Well done for getting back on track.
I find going back to the first phase always helps me push things along a bit.
