Do you just jump right on in -TDEE???

Hi everyone,

While I'm not new to MFP I am new to TDEE. I had been netting about 1200 calories a day for the last couple months and was losing about 1.5 pounds a week, so obviously I was very happy about that. About three weeks ago I plateaued. The scale didn't budge. I did some research on how to get off a plateau and I read about TDEE. I figured out my TDEE and it's 2065. I need to lose about six more pounds to reach my goal weight so I would like to do TDEE -20%. That would be about 1600 calories a day. What I'm wondering is should I just go from eating the 1200-1300 calories I've been eating right to 1600 calories or should I gradually increase it? I actually feel guilty because I feel like I've been starving my body and I need to take better care of it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I highly recommend gradually upping your calories. About 100 to 200 daily calories per week.
