Keto.. Am I doing it right?

So I just started keto, I worked out my macro nutrients around 65%calories from fat, 30% from protien and 5% from carbs, which worked it out to be around 86 grams of fat, 90 grams of protien and 15 grams of carbs based on an aprox. 1200 calorie per day diet.. Does this sound about right? Or am I supposed to be having more GRAMS of fat than protien, apposed to just more calories from fat, being that there are more grams of fat per calorie than grams of protien per calorie?

Also has anyone else done keto? How was your experience? I'm only a few of days in and probably wouldn't even be in ketosis yet but so far so good, I'm usually a pretty basic eater tbh due to my busy schedule so I've found with keto I can enjoy more of the basic foods that I tried to avoid before, like cheese and mayo so I'm not really craving carbs. My boyfriend keeps going on and on about how he's dreading in a weeks time when it starts to affect my mood and give me headaches and bad breath and blahblahblah, I'm prepared for some possible negitive side effects while I'm getting used to it, but from what I've heard of other peoples experiences, and due to the fact I probably ate well under 100 grams of carbs a day anyway, I get the feeling he's somewhat overreacting.. Thoughts? :)

There is an active keto group you can join.

I am doing keto, my macros are similar to yours. As for fat, the overall calories need to be higher than that of protein. Since fat has 9 calories per gram vs protein's 4, you'll see that the gram amounts are about equal. I think 30% protein is okay, but you might end up going down to 25% protein if the 30% stalls you.
