Eating more and Started Lifting..Does the scale ever shift?

I do not want to sound impatient as I know this is a lifelong change I have made for the better and I can already tell that increasing my calories and starting to lift and do strength training has done wonders for me.
I, like many females when they started on MFP (I joined in January weighing 196-197lbs) was sticking to between 1200-1300 cals a day. I am a dog walker and typically do 6-8 45 min walks a day, I also began some insanity videos, hiit videos and was doing daily crunches and push ups etc. I was able to take off just over 20lbs and then it a plateau. I hadn't lost anything in 5 weeks so I changed what I was doing.
I began lifting and doing more serious strength training about 4 weeks ago now and increased my cals but 500-600 a day. I am seeing results already and I know that is what matters. However, I still weight 176lbs and I know this is atleast 25lbs...if not 30lbs overweight for my where my body likes to be.
I just want to know from people who have made this shift how long it took them to have the scales go down a little? I am VERY happy my jeans are fitting better and there is less hanging over some of my tighter pants but....come on scale I would like just a little shift!

i lost weight the fastest when i started lifting and quit doing cardio, and ate a reasonable amount of food. but honestly i think the best thing is to detach yourself from the need to see change on the scale and try to just appreciate the more aesthetic YOU. (i am still struggling with this, so i am a bit of a hypocrite)0
