Hay Fever

It's spring in New York, and the pollen counts are off the charts. I'm having a hard time getting to the gym, because hunny, I can't breathe. I can't be the only person suffering. What do you all do to get through this without totally screwing up your routine?

I don't go to a gym, but I run and workout at home. We are having similar issues where I live, and I find it difficult to breathe, too. Honestly, I just suck it up, rely heavily on my inhaler, push through it, and do what I can. Excuses got me to a place I never want to be again. I can't (and won't!) allow them to hamper the progress I have made thus far.

I sucked it up yesterday, and honestly, being on the eliptical was the best I felt all day. This morning I just couldn't do it.

Plus, I had to take a decongestant, and I'm not entirely sure if it's okay to excerise with that. So many things to worry about.

Here is another thing to worry about but only for the short term. Actually it is nothing to worry about, just a heads up.

I am new to allergy suffering, it's only been the last few years. This year has by far been the worst!

Anyway, I am a daily weigher. I chart it and learn from it so daily fluctuations are something I understand. Two weeks ago we had some extreme days here. Counts over 1500 for 4 days. I gained 4 pounds and the ONLY thing I can attribute them to is allergies. My sodium was low, no exercise changes etc. When the pollen count dropped back to just "high" I dropped those pounds and went right back to my steady loss.

Wow, that's so interesting! Were you taking any meds during that time? To be honest, I find one thing that sort of relieves my symptoms (probably just by distraction) is eating.

Claritin. It helps me a little but only a little.
