I'm a west coast girl heading to Halifax for a week for the Maritimes tattoo festival - What else should I check out?

    Depends what you like to do. If into touristy *kitten*: Citadel Hill, Peggy's Cove, Peir 21 Museum, Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

    We have an Art Gallery, live theatre.

    If you like going for walks, have to check out the public Gardens (largest public English Gardens in North America), point Pleasant Park, Sir Flemming Park, Shubby Park, etc.

    If you like to drink we have one of the highest per-capita drinking establishments in North America (due to so many universities and colleges in town, not to mention Maritimers like to drink). A lot of places have local musicians playing... A few great brew pubs and micros brewers.

    The Water front is a great place to go for a walk, coffee or bite.

    If you are into shopping, Spring Garden Road has a bunch of upscale shopping then there are 2 large malls Halifax Shopping Centre and Mic-Mac Mall. 2 business parks full of retail outlets (Bayres Lake, and Dartmouth Crossing), cute shops in the Hydrostone market (2 blocks from the tattoo festival)

    Too Bad Hockey is over our Major Junior Team is #1 in the CIS, going to Memorial cup in Sask starting Friday.

    There is probably more too... during the summer we have a bunch of festivals, so those wont be on when you are here.

    No but I’ve been - thought is was a pretty cool city. Was pissed I didn’t make it to the Alexander Keith’s brewery
