Eating more during the summer

I'm currently hitting some roadblocks when it comes to losing weight now that the weather has warmed. I know the common perception is that you gain weight during the winter, but I've always throughout my life felt the opposite. I think it's the idea that the summer months tend to get busier. My social calendar fills up with friends and family having barbecues and parties, I start playing sports and that usually ends with beers and food after the game. I find that in the winter it's easier to contain temptation, since there isn't any external peer pressure to go out as much and I've always been someone with a rubber arm in that regard.

I find summer has lots of personal vices, like stuff like ice cream and iced cappucinos. Also with increased busyness I'm less inclined to want to do food tracking religiously like I might during less busy periods of my life. I'm still keeping active, moreso than I would during the winter, but it seems like I'm fighting a losing battle.

Does anyone have similar challenges? I'm not sure there are any particular answers to my question, I just find it feels like conventional wisdom states I should be less hungry during the summer, but that's never been the case for me.
