Friends of the opposite sex living together

So this isn't my current situation, but my boyfriend has lived with girls that are "friends" in the past. At one point in time, he was in a serious relationship with a girl who didn't live in the apartment. He says the girls he lived with became sisters to him and doesn't think it's a big deal at all for guys and girls to live together (however, I'd like to note that one of the girls had a crush on him and he asked the other one out). Personally, I don't have a problem with it in general, but I think when either roommate gets a significant other, there can be a lot of problems/drama. I don't think it would be a deal breaker, but I wouldn't be happy if I dated a guy who lived with a girl that wasn't me.

What do you guys think about this? Just curious about other people's thoughts on this...
