Okay so I just started IF 3 days ago. I am having no trouble with the fasting period but I am struggling to make my macros. I may just being a little too ambitious too early but I am wondering about eating strategies? What should I eat first. If I eat all my fruits and veggies I feel too full when I move into the protine rich foods. My goal is to lose body's at while strength training. I am on a 4 day 5-3-1 plan by Jim wendler and I'm fasting or 19-20 hours a day.
I am 5'7" 167lbs and if guess 15-25% body fat... I have no idea really. Also I'm trying to jam 220g of protein during my feeding period
Any tips other than intermittent fasting seams dumb will be greatly appreciated
Thanks Much

Hey, I'm brand new to the site, but am an IF veteran
I lost 40ish pounds doing alternate day intermittent fasting, following Dr. James Johnson's book The Alternate Day Diet. I transitioned into maintenance in March and switched to a more laid back IF plan, Dr. Michael Mosley's 5:2 plan, as laid out in his book The Fast Diet. Now I'm down to just one IF day a week, since I've been having trouble stabilizing my maintenance weight.
I've read a bit about IF eating windows, but I'm not very familiar with the break down of them. I didn't track my macros while I was actively losing weight, and I'm just starting to dive into all of that (hence the reason why I've joined mfp)
I'm hoping there's an IF group on the board that we can join!0 -
That's awesome congrats! Glad to hear some positive feedback on IF. A friend of mine recommended IF to me and had me watch a few YouTube videos by the hodgetwins. They have a channel called fasting twins... It's total broscience but they are very funny and I have learned quite a bit about IF and working out from them. Also depending on what your new goals are I am constantly recomending 5-3-1 by Jim wendler. It's about 40 pages but once you read and understand the philosophy it takes a the guessing out of working out. I have done about months of his program and I'm always getting stronger.
If you do see any threads regarding my lack of ability to stuff all my food into 4 hours please let me know!0
