Goal setting doesn't work?

I've tried changing my goal settings from 30 minutes exercise 5 times a week to 60 minutes exercise 5 times a week to 90 minutes exercise 7 times a week to 120 minutes exercise 7 times a week.
I also changed the goal from 1 pound per week to2 pounds per week.
No matter what I change it to, it still says I'm going to lose .9 pounds per week for a weight loss of 4.4 pounds by 4th July. Does this feature not work?

The calculation for how much weight you will lose is based on your weight, activity level, and calories recorded in your food diary. Changing your goals has nothing to do with the calculation. Hope that helps!0

P.S. Calories burned in your Exercise Diary affect the calculation as well.0

So setting a goal does nothing at all then? What's the point of it?0

Setting a weight-loss goal helps MFP calculate what your calories should be. Setting an exercise goal is just something that you can do and track it it helps you. Personally, I don't use the exercise goal feature on here. I've been working out forever and am already motivated, so I don't find that to be a useful tool.0
