This is what my home page reads:

926 CALORIES REMAINING

Goal Food Exercise = Net
1,960 1,605 - 571 1034

I've been reading forums on and off. I want to know if my daily is 1960 and I ate 1,605 and I worked out today and got 571 my net is 1034 does that mean I have to eat more or is the 1,605 enough.

You should net at least 1200, but try to get close to your actual goal.

MFP is set up in such a way that it takes your average calories burned through regular activity (also called TDEE, or total daily energy expenditure) and creates a deficit. The deficit is equal to how many pounds you said you would like to lose a week (most people choose 2lbs a week, even though that may or may not, depending on your starting weight, be feasible).

Since 3,500 calories equals a pound, subtracting -500 a day would, presumably, equal a 1lb/week loss. Any exercise you do in addition to your normal activity creates a further deficit, meaning by MFP's formula, you would eat back those exercise calories and still maintain a deficit. That's why they are added to your diary. There are varying factors as to how much weight you will actually lose per week as weight loss is not linear, but this is the basic idea.
