Are you able to change the allowed calorics on MFP?

My doctor is telling me I should have 1700 calorics and fitness pal says 1200. Can you change the amount

Yes. Go to
My Home - Goals - Change Goals - Custom
and you'll see how much MFP thinks you should eat to maintain, and be able to change calories and your carb/protein/fat ratios. And lots of other things but I wouldn't really recommend touching that unless you know what you're doing...0
