Target Heart rate vs high intensity workouts

I've struggled recently with not seeing a loss and have even had an increase the last 5 weeks. I've readjusted my macros just to see if that gives me a little extra push however, I also read something yesterday that said that a higher intensity workout may not be the best thing. I can constantly hold and work at 176 BPM and usually have an average heart rate(depending on the workout) in the high 160's. My target heart rate at 90% is 179. I feel good and not like i've over done it during workouts. So my question is, should I be holding a lower average heart rate to see better results.
