Question about exercise and eating more

I have been on here for approximately 3 weeks. The first two I just counted calories. No exercise. I wasn't hungry and felt satisfied with the food amount I was eating. The third week I added exercise. Walking, elliptical, and a hike in the woods. I cannot get enough to eat now. I feel out of control again. Like more food than I was even eating before I started the diet. Its like the only thing on my mind is when can I eat again. What the heck. And carbs .. all I want is carbs. Where with the first two weeks I was really good with protien etc.
I guess my questions are these .. is it better to lose weight with just reducing calories in the beginning while getting used to the lowered amounts? Is this normal? Do other people get this feeling?

Is your period due? I find when mine is I just want to eat crap & a lot of it!! Really messes up my routine!!0

Are you recording your exercise and eating the extra it gives you for this? That is the way it was deigned.
If you burn 300 calories you get to eat an extra 300 calories to eat. I'll admit this is what motivates me to exercise more often than not.0 -
Most of the time I was or am. It is a different feeling. I think I am going to stop exercising and see if it goes back to normal.
I am PMS .. but never felt like this before .. maybe I just didn't notice because I wasn't paying this close attention to it. Either way .. I think I may hold off on the exercise. With as big as I am I have all kinds of aches and pains and blisters from the exercise anyway.0 -
I think it's coincidence. Your first week is always going to be easier. Once you get to the point where you are really going to start losing, you will feel hungrier. I find that I am less hungry immediately after a workout, but over the course of the day I do want to make up for the calories I burned.0

it sounds like you're finding (multiple) excuses not to exercise.
please stick with it.
the exercise is not to blame. you're either not eating enough, or fighting against old bad habits, or it's possibly pms as others have discussed (i know nothing about that).0 -
I'm no expert, but it sounds like a combo of the PMS and old eating habits. If you are hungry then eat, just look for healthy alternatives to the bad stuff. Good luck to you!0
