Pine Cones on my walk
I have a nice place to walk outside at work and while walking I noticed several pine cones laying on the sidewalk. There were 12 pine cones laying on the sidewalk near a tree and nine of them were sitting upright. That kind of amazed me.
Then when walking near my home I noticed a similar thing for another pine tree. Both trees had fat pine cones not the longer skinnier ones we used to have on my farm growing up. I suppose this is something that helps a new tree get started. I just never noticed this before and wondered if anyone else had.
They kind of looked like this one below except they were fatter and sat straight up.

It's a pretty pine cone and a pretty picture! But it looks like the kind we have here ... maybe it's just the kind of pine tree? I should bring my camera on walks more ... but I bring my two dogs. And that's a lot for just me!!0

You should collect them and harvest the pine nuts out of them. They are very nutritious and are totally edible.0
