What is TDEE?

Hi there....am a very new member....finally checked out this community page and lot of interesting topics. I came across the discussion about calorie intake and saw TDEE mentioned a few times. What does that mean?

Sorry as that was your first post I thought it prudent to give you some good old MFP sarcasm you might see around on the forums. TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure and is effectively how many calories you burn daily that includes your activity level.
So it is your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate -How many cals you burn just being alive) and adds on calories burnt by walking around, job, etc. That is your TDEE.0 -
