Becoming Healthy After Restricting..

Hey guys.
I used to restrict and I lost a bunch of weight that way, but I'm done with that life style and everything it has both given and taken away from me.
I want to be healthy, but I need help.
I know I will gain back some weight that I lost, but I also know that I won't gain most of it back.
Here are my Stats:
Height: 5'2.5(62.5 inches)
Current Weight: 128.4
I need help with what types of foods I should eat, when I should eat etc.

Is this a good plan?

730-Breakfast
930-snack
1130-lunch
130-snack
330-smaller snack
530-Dinner

Any Advice is much appreciated <3

I think you need to eat at times that work for you. I eat every couple hours kind of like you out lined. That does work for me. I am never hungry. I like to be done eating by 6 pm. I just feel better and sleep better and feel less bloated in the morning if I don't eat after 6. Just eat real food...lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, whole grains, fish, lean protien, eggs, etc. I am somewhat a creature of habit and tend to eat the exact same things every day without a lot of variety. But I would recommend eat what you like with lots of variety so you don't get bored. I am not a fan of protien bars and things like that. There are so many calories and it makes me crave junk. I would recommend treat yourself when you want. If you want a soda, have one. If you want a slice of birthday cake, have it. Everything in moderation. But enjoy what you eat! Restriction leads to nothing good. Good luck! Sounds like you are on the right track. Love to hear what others have to say.

I have a few questions...Are protein bars no good for you? Because I love them...Dx
And also are these good rules to follow? -No less than 1000 calories, No more than 1300

-Red meat can only be eaten once a week(If at all)

-Eat once every two hours starting at 730am and ending at 530pm

-Drink between 6-10 cups of water a day

-One cheat a week meal a week (Breakfast, lunch, or Dinner)

-1 fast every two weeks is allowed(Only if I want to)

I only eat 2-3 times a day and have totally cut out snacking.

As for what types of foods-well you'll get a bunch of different answers, depending on what food philosophy a person follows :) I lost around 40 pounds with alternate day intermittent fasting and SAD (standard American diet). After transitioning into maintenance I decided to start focusing on a more natural way of eating. That led me on a journey of lots of research and I now eat primal. That change has led to more weight loss and I'm currently below my goal weight and trying to figure out my maintenance sweet spot. My current macro percentages are Fat 50%, carbs 25%, protein 25%. Primal definitely isn't for everyone, and six months ago when I was starting my weight loss journey I wasn't ready for it. But now I've progressed to a point in my life where my health is something that I think about a lot, especially in regards to cancer prevention. For me, primal eating along with intermittent fasting is the best fit. For you it may be something else :)

-I eat red meat all the time-meat is not the enemy, processed carbs and sugars are

    -Eat when hungry.

-Drink when thirsty-the whole 8 glasses a day isn't based on any reliable science

-I really don't understand the whole 'cheating' thing, but the plan I followed for weight loss I only dieted every other day and then the other days I ate whatever I wanted, so I never felt the need to go off plan.

-I lost my extra weight doing intermittent fasting and fasted every other day. I followed Dr. James Johnson's book, The Alternate Day Diet. Another good one about IF is Dr. Michael Mosley's book, The Fast Diet.

I think you just need to make rules that make sense to you. Lot's of people eat protein bars...I eat them sometimes...but I don't want that many ingredients...I sometimes eat Luna or Larabars for fun. It's like eating dessert to me because they are so sweet!
I don't like meat so that is easy, I rarely eat it. If you want red meat, I think once a week is reasonable.
Eating every few hours or 3 meals...I think do what feels right to you...no right or wrong...I don't like eating a lot at once so small meals often work well for me.
6-10 cups of water is a great goal!
I do a cheat meal when I want....if I go out to dinner and I feel like living a little, I will. Sometimes it's once a week, sometimes it's once a month.
I haven't done any fasting. But I know a lot of people who do.

it sounds like you're being really strict with yourself and it might be better to see how you get on :) I've seen peoples diary's where they label their meals as Meal 1, Meal 2, Meal 3, Meal 4 then Drinks, Snacks etc which might work for you.

My diary is open and I have Breakfast listed but I don't do breakfast so what you can see there is my morning cup of tea then my snack that I have around 10am. My lunch is usually around 12 noon, dinner is around 7.30pm. I list all my snacks under a Snacks heading - I find I eat them at about 2pm and 4.30pm. I drink lots of water.

As to your calorie intake, you'll get lots of advice telling you you're eating too low - I think the best advice is to look at some of the calculators on here and put in your measurements and goals. scoobyworkshop seems good

Good luck, hope this helps, try and think of this as being healthy (not as being obsessive!) :) x

@Jakkisr, I do treat this as an obsession, not as being healthy and I think that that is my down fall! D=

@Kayaksara Thanks for all the information! It's really helping me make a plan! =D and I may not have a cheat every week now that I think about it, I might just have a "Treat" Instead instead of an entire cheat.

@Momzeeee I might fast once a week or just 3 times every two weeks after looking at your results. Thanks! <3
