Weights or cardio, that is the question...

Hi
I am almost at my goal, weight wise. I have been doing super amounts of cardio, wearing a heart rate monitor, and cutting calories to match. I have had great success with this and as I said, am almost where I want to be.
Having said that, now I am wondering about lifting weights? I doubt it will have the calorie burn I have come to LOVE, but will it help keep the weight off once I go totally to maintaining?
I have pretty good muscle tone, from Insanity and The Asylum, but would like to see an actual 6 pack, not just a flat tummy. Also, i would like more defined legs and arms and maybe lose more body fat.
My only hesitation is, like I said, I know it wont burn the calories I am use to burning, so I am hoping it will still cause a good calorie deficit somehow. Does that even make sense?
Any advice would be appreciated.
I like working out with a video (Insanity), so are there any good workout video's for lifting? Just doing some"reps" by myself in my basement doesn't sound fun at all....

Also,

Absolutely start lifting weights. Look into New Rules of Lifting for Women or Stronglifts 5x5 if you are a novice with the weights.

if you care about how you look, then lift weights. if you care about numbers, stick with cardio.

Weights are about the SHAPE of your body .... absolutely start strength training. I will always do a combination of both .... but strength training is key.

Weights is kind of a longer-term option. You may gain weight too be warned. But you'll lose body volume in those places where your fat is stored now. Because muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle burns more calories. So you can eat more if you have more muscle and less body fat.

You won't see any sixpack unless your body fat gets REALLY REALLY low. And I mean REALLY low.
