I just want to thank you for keeping this information easily accessible and helping others like me.

I'm on day 5 of following the TDEE method, and I have to say... I was so nervous at first, and thought how in the world will I be able to lose weight eating 1743 calories a day... my second thought was, how in the world am I going to eat 1743 calories in one day, every single day. I have struggled to get up to 1200 calories in a day!!!

So reading more about TDEE and meal plans, and healthy higher calorie choices I spent some additional time planning out breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack menus for the week. I've upped my water (which I should have already done), and cut out some of the crappy "zero" calorie drinks that are full of sodium, and this morning when I checked, I have lost 3.5 pounds!

So the scale is great to see some results, and I know soon I won't be able to use that as my qualifyer HOWEVER it was really nice to see this morning. I also know, this will not be the typical result... 3.5 pounds in 5 days is a lot to lose!

I will say, I have had more energy this week, have slept better and have felt so much more satisfied! So thank you for sharing, and I hope to keep seeing more information! :drinker:

3.5lb loss was just because you upped the water and lowered the sodium... Don't worry about it being a lot to lose, i bet you don't (in a nice way) lose 3.5lb each week for the next 2 weeks.

    Is 1743, your TDEE - 20% ?

Hate to burst your bubble but you didn't lose 3.5 lbs of fat in 5 days. It's water weight. Keep going and changes may come!

Just chiming in to say I have had similar results. In the last 3 weeks of eating TDEE -20% (around 1700 cals for me) I have lost 5lbs. I feel way better, and this is after a 2 month plateau on 1200 cals. It has made a world of difference.

I know it's not going to keep happening... but it sure was nice to see since I have been struggling to even knock off 1 of those pounds lately!

And yes, 1743 is my TDEE-20%

This is really interesting. I only just started tracking calories. I am at 1200, but struggling to make it. I have no idea how much I was eating before, but I bet it was never enough. I always wondered why, when I have the healthiest diet of anyone in my family, why am I the heaviest? And to think it could be because I'm not eating enough is just wild to me. I'm not eating much differently now than usual.

I am going to have to look into a meal plan that would bring my calories up. My diary is open, though it's only been filled out since Tuesday. If anyone wants to look, I'm happy to hear thoughts. I have not been feeling hungry and not eating though. I just eat when I'm hungry and I eat the food I like.

I'm really glad I joined. I'm happy to be finding out that I apparently don't know **** about nutrition and I'm happy to finally be figuring it out. :)

sznnn, I was the same way... I thought I was eating healthy because I have always chosen fruits and vegetables over anything else, HOWEVER, like you I struggled to even get 1000 calories, because if I wasn't hungry I didn't eat.

The meal plan I have chosen to follow is 4 meals a day, and I am supposed to have 430 calories (roughly) per meal. What I chose to do is make my first meal of the day actually be closer to 500 calories and very filling. I made an egg casarole that I was able to divide up for the work week, it reheats very well, and fits all my macros nicely.

My lunch is typically more like a dinner, like today I have teryaki kielbasa with pineapple and brown rice. And for dinner tonight I'm planning on having a spinach salad with grilled chicken, strawberries and walnuts.

My 4th meal is really my snacks, I typically have a 1/4 cup of cashews, a fruit of some kind and then a weight watchers snack cake (help with the sweet tooth), or some breyers all-natural ice cream.

This will actually be just under 1700 calories, but I have been having a glass of milk each evening now too and that adds that extra kick of calories that I need.

In the mix I have been drinking anywhere from 8-12 glasses of water. I'm still never hungry, but from everything I've been reading lately, the goal is to keep from getting hungry because that is when you binge. Keep your body fully satisfied/satiated and it feels better. Normally around 1-2 I start getting tired and feeling crappy... all this week I have maintained a nice steady pace and had way more energy than ever before! It has been amazing!!!!
