For you moms who have school age children....

Who say you can't find time to exercise........

Tonight I took turns skipping with my 10 year old, 9 year old and 5 year old. While the skipping with the 5 year old was a little slower, its still a workout. We tried to beat each other's skipping counts. We each came up with a cool move to do with the skipping rope.....then we biked up and down the road....granted a little slower for moms however its still exercise and omg it was super fun!

Play freeze tag with your kids, practice cartwheels if you are agile, play hide and seek in the yard. Give them each the task to come up with a new move as an exercise for everyone to do......

You have kids.....you may not have time to do the usual gym stuff or put on a dvd but you sure as heck can go play with your kids, its the best time ever! I had so much fun and burned some calories along the way! My kids are happy because they got to play with their momma, momma's happy because she got some extra workout in without feeling like a workout......i call that a win win.

So you momma's who have kids who say you don't have time to exercise....go play with your kiddies, its the best time ever!

:) Hope this helps any mommas out there who are having a hard time fitting exercise in.

Jess

My older kids (7 and 8) love doing Zumba Wii with me. I chase my youngest around the house and play peek-a-boo. Instead of taking the stroller out, I carry my youngest on my back. We go (WALK) to the park and I join them in play. Yes, you can get exercise with having kids.
  • Totally agree, i often go roller blading with my 12 year old daughter, its great fun!!!

My 14yo goes to zumba class with me and loves the eliptical.
I can ride bikes with my 6yo's
I've learned how to swim laps with my 1yo in tow.

When we go to the park, we do one lap around on the 1 mile walk path. ( The quicker they get it done, the quicker they get to play)
You can do hopscotch, basketball, soccer, ride bikes. It doesn't have to feel like exercise. plus it is time spent with the kids. A total win-win situation.
