Quick question about 1st day starting

So I finished my first day today, 7:43pm here and finished my first diary entry about an hour ago. Now considering that they recommend you drink at least 8 cups of water a day that really changed the amount I normally take in. (Before this I would drink maybe 2-4 cups) I reached my calorie intake which seems to be just a little higher than what I normally eat and finished off the day with a 30 minute walk/jog. As the day comes to an end I'm feeling a bit stomach sick, I'm thinking it might have been the amount of water that I drank as suggested because my body isn't used to it. If anyone has any idea I'd greatly appreciate hearing your opinion, thanks!

First, congratulations on joining here! There are some really great, helpful people on here. That's great you're drinking 8 cups of water. That was my first thought was maybe you tried to drink too much at once; I used to make myself sick doing that. Did you let your food settle before you went for your walk/jog? At least an hour? If you also did that, then my guess (and only my guess) is that it's a mental thing. You told yourself that it's a lot of food and water to eat and drink (I don't know what calories you set yourself up with) so if you tell yourself something, your body will act in accord. 8 cups is very manageable. There's a big group of us on here that aim for 10-12 cups, and some that even get into the 30s!! (not me haha) Water will really help you in the long run, so don't be afraid of it! Sorry I don't have any solid answers for you, but I wish you the best of luck!0

You did better than I normally do with water! LOL, I've been at this for 2 months and I'd probably get sick drinking all of that water--that's terrible but true.
What's easier for me is if the water isn't completely ice cold and in a cup like the Starbucks cold drink cups. I've been trying to ease in the amount of water I drink daily.
It took me about a good month to really start realizing what all I put into my body and to start modifying how much I shovel in, haha. But consistent tracking is key, even if it means that you're over your limit (I am tonight).
Btw, congrats on starting your journey!!! Feel free to check my page out if you'd like & add me if you want0 -
water water water...I read somewhere that Gabriel Union drank 100 gallons of water so I decided that I was going to do that. For the first time in my life, my body was completely hydrated and I was peeing once every hour, well towards the end of the day, I was pounding it like beer or shots. Well right before bed, I seriously thought I was going to die from water poising. So lesson learn, I can start out all or nothing.
I had just finished my food journal and I realized that I can't eat dinner. Its too late any how...but I am hungry. I think its because I realize that if I eat any more I will go over and I don't want that. So I just need to deal, I guess. This is a really cool site; I just hope it stick with it. We shall see. Good luck with your progress!!!0 -
Yea I think it's my body trying to adjust... I'm def going to stick with the 8 cups a day though. Thanks everyone :]0
