Spiralized Vegetables

I recently bought a spiralizer for my veggies. I'll be making a simple salad using zucchini, red onion, garbanzo beans, lemon juice, garlic, cherry tomatoes, and basil. What recipes have you tried using spiralized veggies?

    Amazon.

I got sick of using my julienne peeler - which takes forever!

What is a spiralizer? I've never heard of that.

Thanks for the link! I saw one on Dr. Oz and immediately wanted one, but then put the idea in the back of my head, because I am sort of a kitchen gadget hoarder! But, I bought a juicer and have been using that sucker every single day! So I'm pretty sure the veggie spiralizer will get its workouts, too! Best wishes on your weight loss! Thanks again.

why would the way you cut the veggies change the types of recipes you can use for them?

I was kind of wanting one too until I saw "Dr. Oz." Now I can't have one on principle. :brokenheart:

That's what I am wondering as well...

I've considered getting one too. I'm just too cheap. I do make zucchini "pasta" by using a veggie peeler and scrape, turn, scrape, turn, scrape, turn...

Come to think of it, that is pretty tedious. Maybe I will get one for my birthday. :D

It's another way to incorporate more veggies for me. I was slicing my zucchini using the julienne peeler, but it takes much longer. I zipped the zucchini through the spiralizer in less than a minute. Also, it makes it fun for my kids. They won't necessarily eat zuchinni, but if I make it into fun noodle shapes, they are more willing to try it because it resembles pasta or noodles.

I decided to make my meatless meatballs and pair it up with the spiralized zuchiini and my favorite spaghetti sauce. Yum!
