The wagon is a dot to me... HELP!

Following a period of sickness (norovirus leading to gastroenteritis), a realy set back at work and family ill health I have not been logging properly, I start off logging and by the evening I am so far over I stop bothering. (Normally because we are eating out or eathing what is convenient because we're at the doctors or hospital etc)

I was doing so well. I was gyming and logging and the weight was coming off steadily and I was in a routine and... now it's all gone horribly wrong! :frown:

And I don't know how to get back on track... I have my motivations for wanting to lose weight but at the moment they keep being trumped by bread, pasta and mars bar ice creams (I never cut these things out entirely but had them in moderation... the other day I ate 4 mars bar ice creams in a row) :embarassed: and I'm embarassed by it because I feel like I'm letting myself down.

Hence me saying the wagon is a dot to me... not only have I fallen off it... it's run off and left me for dust!

How do I get it back? I feel very upset about it.

You had a routine? Well, get back to it. You cannot fail if you don't give up. I know it seems frustrating and scary, but the only way to get back on the wagon is to go back to everything you were doing. You know it made you feel good and it will make you feel good again. Especially after your troubles.

Maybe pre-log and leave room for a treat?

What worked for me (I fell off the wagon after a business trip to the UK) was to just start logging again, even if it was way over. I started seeing what I was actually eating, and it made me a little sick to realize exactly what I was eating and how many calories I was taking in. It was the motivation I needed to get me back on track.

    Good luck!

What you did yesterday (or the day before that, or weeks before) does not determine what you can do today. If you want it, go get it. Leave the past where it belongs and start over right now. Clean slate. Write down those reasons for wanting to do it and stick them on the fridge or pantry in your kitchen. You can do this, you just have to tell yourself you can.
