Star Trek!

I'm leaving shortly to go see the new Star Trek film! I grew up watching The Next Generation as a kid, although as I grew older and went back and watched the original series, which I have to say is my favourite (Spock Rock<3). I'm also a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch and I'm excited to see him in his first big American film debut (if you don't count his smaller role in Steven Spielberg's War Horse).

Has anyone here seen it? What did you think? Feel free to discuss spoilers, just warn at the beginning of your post. Did you like it; if yes, why? If no, why not?

If you HAVEN'T seen it, and you want to, what are you hopes and expectations? Any deal breakers (e.g. one of my friends said he'll walk out if Benedict's villain is revealed to be Khan, but... lol)?
