Artificial sweeteners are bad? Diet drinks to be shunned?

I have heard that you not supposed to use artificial sweeteners such as nutra sweet. Also that zero calorie diet drinks are not good. According to what I heard these products will keep a person from losing weight. How is that when they are zero calories? I appreciate any info to help me understand this.

The hardest thing I did when changing the way I ate was give up diet pepsi. I'm not a coffee drinker and had a can with breakfast and then one or two more during the day. I also LOVED big fountain drinks. But it's been 4 weeks now since I've had one and while I do occasionally miss them, I'm so happy I gave them up. Even if you don't believe the studies that indicate it's effect on weight loss, I just felt like putting all of those chemicals in my body wasn't good.I spent over 30 years drinking diet soda on a daily basis so if I can give it up, anyone can. If you want to. You have to decide for yourself if you think it's important or not.
I was always able to lose weight while drinking it and have not noticed an increased weight loss since giving it up but your mileage may vary.0 -
