Hard time reaching daily calorie goal

If you're unable to reach your daily calorie goal, would it mean you could say.. have what you had for dinner as a snack later? Or just let it go as is?
We're usually low on food, and the few things we have I can't really eat thanks to dieting, so what do we do if we're unable to get to our calorie intake for the day? I know sometimes if you eat too little when exercising you'll drop weight slower, or if you eat too much.
It's actually kind of embarrassing to ask this, but i'm a bit worried and not exactly sure what to do at this point.
Thanks in advance~

Yes, you can eat leftovers from dinner for a snack later. You can eat whatever you want as long as it fits into your calorie goals IMO.0
