Is anyone not eating before morning exercise? I used to think it would burn fat if I didn't eat before. But now I'm finding myself waking up and hungry and wanting to eat before.

I always eat a little something. Often half a protein bar, or a banana.0

What kind of exercises are you doing?0

eat when you want. meal timing is unimportant.0

If it makes you feel better, is more convenient, etc... you can eat whenever. Hit your daily macros and it doesn't matter.0

you should always eat a little something before you work out for fuel, plus eating first thing when you wake up kick starts your motabolism(sp) and helps with weight loss (this is stated in multiple nutrition/weight loss magazines and books). I'm not a big morning eater so I understand not eating before going to do a morning workout, but i always find that my runs are way better if i fuel my body before i go. Best of luck to you!0

I always eat before a morning workout. I NEED coffee to get me going and have to put something in my stomach to go along with. My standard is oatmeal with half a banana sliced on top, a tablespoon of chia seeds, and a quarter cup of soy milk. That keeps me happy until mid-afternoon.
If my workout is later in the day, I like a tablespoon of peanut butter and a shot of espresso about 30 minutes before hand.0 -
I used to go to the gym every day at 5am.
If I didn't eat it was pretty much a waste of time, I had no energy, didn't put enough into it, and would feel physically sick by the end... So I used to just have a banana before hand and a proper breakfast after, and the difference was unbelievable. It made the work out so much more enjoyable.
So I say eat something, especially if your body is asking for it. Or at least give it a go see how you get on

If I work out first thing, I don't eat before I go to the gym... but all I'm doing is cardio. I tend to get a stitch even if I have the smallest snack. Strength training is a different story. I'll definitely have something before I do any weights.0

It doesnt matter how much fat you burn during your exercise total fat loss over the whole day is what matters and these are not the same thing.
If you want to eat something pre workout, then eat.0 -
If you eat something before exercise, you will be able to do a lot more before getting too tired to carry on.0

I've been diagnosed as a 'slow oxidiser' so I'm able to run 'empty' for some time. I always make sure I have a drink before I go running, but can quite happily run 6-7 miles before breakfast. I think it helps to know how quickly we metabolize. Fast oxidisers need to eat before they exercise, so I'm told. It can be a bit of a mine field this fitness and nutrition thing and we can be quite different. Go with what works for you.0
