Bacon - how to?

I just had bacon for my breakfast and whilst I usually weigh before cooking I was amazed to find that 210g raw became 55g after being grilled.
How would you add that to your menu?

I always add food as it is in its raw state, especially bacon because (the stuff I eat) the nutritional data is for it in its uncooked state. I'd be interested to see what others do.

Not always true. I've bought packages of meat (including bacon) that specifically say "cooked'. My most recent bacon purchase said "3 pan fried pieces". My chicken said "3 oz cooked".

Go to http://www.calorieking.com/foods/ enter "bacon" , select "pan fried", under serving size enter "55" and select grams (g) from the drop down menu.

yes the bacon does "burn off some stuff while being cooked" It also bathes in its own fat and greases. I always just add the raw state and that way I'm not cheating myself into thinking something like bacon or hamburger was a lower calorie meal then it really was.

I never log bacon raw... I don't eat it raw. When I cook it SO MUCH oil cooks off and then I paper towel the rest. I log bacon as cooked by the g. Think of how calorie dense 1TBSP of oil is. I don't want to log those calories unless I'm also drinking the oil that came off LOL. I log it in its entirety if I"m adding it to a recipe where discarding the oil isn't an option, like Chili.

Must admit that does seem the most sensible thing.

Thanks everyone for your input!

I, too, log it by the gram after it's been cooked and drained. If you're not eating the fat that's left in the pan, why count it?
