Hi everyone !!!

Just finished 30 minutes on my elliptical here at home :) yay me...the screen is broken so i dont have an accurate calorie count on it so I put on my Runtastic pedometer and went from there. I wanted to experiment with something and this is what I got:

150 calories burned, walking, 2.0 slow pace (Runtastic pedometer)

481 calories burned, elliptical trainer (Calories Burned Calculator - an app i downloaded this morning)

383 calories burned, elliptical trainer (MFP)

so what i did, is added the 3 amounts, divided by 3 and took the average number, which was 338 and put that in as my calories burned for 30 minutes on my elliptical here at home.

It is so very confusing knowing what calories to put in so it's as accurate as possible. What do y'all do for accuracy?

thx, Anj

p.s. - always looking for new friends for support on here - if you'd like to add me, plz do so :blushing:

Every one has their preference, i dont log my exercise ever. I dont re eat the calories i bun and i would much rather not have the temptation of saying oh well i have 500 calories left why not use them. thats just me

Always go with the lowest estimate for exercise and the highest estimate for food

I use a heart rate monitor with chest strap for cardio exercises (excluding walking) and I have a Fitbit zip to help get a better estimate of my total daily burn. :flowerforyou:

I recently bought a heart rate monitor with chest strap and LOVE it! I can tell you from my experience, when I do 30 mins elliptical I usually burn about 10 cals/min....so 300 cals total, give or take, depending on how fast I go. I am 5'6", 38 and 195 if that helps at all...
