Okay so I have a top stomach and a bottom stomach  Seriously, i'm not kidding. I am at 187 right now. The top stomach is jiggly :ohwell: the bottom stomach just hangs there because I had a c-section when having my daughter a year and half ago. I'm sure this is sounding so lovely

Anyways, when I lose weight, will my stomach flatten out? I am doing cardio 5 days a week. I just want the top and bottom to unite and become one.

Is there any hope for a c-section momma to get a nice belly (i'm not asking for a 6 pack or anything, but something a little flatter).

Hey, at least I didn't talk about the road map of stretch marks on my stomach.

I am laughing so hard right now, not at you just because I have the same belly! And I did not have a c section although I did just have my baby 3 1/2 months ago, but I know exactly what you mean. I don't know if it goes away but I sure the hell hope so! I especially hate it when I'm doing my floor work and my shirt bags out on me and I can see all the jiggling goin on! I'm doing cardio with lots of crunches in the mix, and I heard it is more effective if you can get in the habit of holding your abs in while doing cardio. Also contracting your abs off and on during the day. Don't know if it's gonna work but I'll try anything short of lipo!!

I had 2 kids, 1 natural and 1 c-section. Not all stomachs will flatten out. It is a gift that is given to use to show that we had kids:laugh:
I have asked my doctor and I did not gain weight with my preg. 10 with my 9.7 son and 3 with my 8.8 daughter. He said that some women will live with it and some will lose it and some will have surgery.
It just depends on the person. Not all women are the same.
Mine is slowly shrinking and I know it won't go away all together, but I am more than happy to have it because it came from my kids...along with the stretch marks.
  • In some cultures years ago a fat belly meant you were prosperous and wealthy...prob because poor people couldn't afford food. Now thanx to hostess twinkies, little Debbie oatmeal creme cookies, starbucks frappicinno, and 24 hour McDonalds drive in we can all look prosperous!!!! ...a jiggly belly can be controlled with duct tape...thats use #44 right after fixing a leaky pipe.....don't sweat the small stuff ladies better a little belly fat then three double chins.....

Try looking up some core exercises, there are some I can do and some is noway:noway: One thing that I am doing to work on that second stomach that is just hanging there......from hysterectomy and bladder band surgery and fat.......Is that you sit on a hard chair, you can put a cushion on it if you like, just not in your overstuffed easy chair:happy: Sit the chair out so your not going to kick anything, then scoot your rear end to the end of the seat, straighten both your legs together on the floor in front of you then lean back against the back of the chair.keep your bottom on the edge of the seat. put your hands on each side of the seat to hold on to. Now lift your legs together at the same time straight off the floor as high as you can, probably straight out in front of you, now lower both legs together to the floor and repeat as much as you can , maybe 5 times today and 10 times tomorrow. I am starting to notice a difference in mine toning up. Don't know if it will go away completely but I like the results so far. I have a long ways to go so I'll see. Give it a try and see if you don't feel it in that area. Please don't cry , it makes me cry to:cry::cry:

    I'm in the same boat!
My stomach was NEVER flat (seriously, I think it might have been flat will I was 9), so for me to expect it to be flat after all this is slim to none! BUT, now that I'm really working on it, hopefully I'll just have one "more united" trimmer belly with cat scratch stretch marks on it!

Two c sections here and I had the same problem. I lost 46 pounds and I have been working out for almost two years. My abs are more like a 4 pack now. I just can't seem to get that lower area to firm up. It is not quite flat either but much closer to being there than it once was. Just keep doing every kind of ab crunch you can think of to work out all muscles in that area. I am sure if I weighed 110 ( a number I have not seen in two decades) then it might be flat, but I live in the real world and I am a real woman so I will just take a four pack I guess!

I guess some of it depends on what shape your in before you get pregnant. I had my son by c-section in 1986 and before then I had always been active in athletics, dance competitions, and body building. So when I got pregnant with him I was in terrific shape to start out. After having him it took two months to be able to work out and then only 3-4 more months to get back to my original size. This picture is how I looked up until 2001.

My belly is pretty similar except I'm seeing the "top stomach" shrink substantially. A friend of mine actually told me I had a flat stomach..I had to laugh because if she could have seen the bottom part which was hiding under my jeans she wouldn't say that. I also had a c-section 4 months ago. I'm a huge fan of wearing a tight tanktop underneath my clothes when I go out or something..gives me the illusion of not having as much flab as I actually do. Good luck with your bellies ladies!

I have had 2 c-sections. One was when I was 21 and I recovered nicely from that one. The other was 4 1/2 years ago and well, I now have 2 stomachs too. I have no real hopes of having a flat stomach but I do know that when the weight comes off, the clothes will fit and the measurements will speak volumes. You just have to look at your wonderful children and remind yourself why you are now different then you used to be. I plan to have another who knows how bad that will make it especially since I will have to have yet another c-section!!! The price we pay!!!!

I had 2 c-sections... oh how I wish after the first one I knew the things I know now!!!! After my first pregnancy not only did I have a lot of excess weight (were talking about 75 more than I started with) but I started having quite a few back problems. after about 2 years of the weight slowly coming off (i made every excuse in the book) I started seeing a sports/physical therapist for my back. He told me that I needed to tone up my core again and I needed to start with that muscle that was stretched and cut!
The little exercise he gave me sounded silly but oh my god did it work! and it started flattening my belly.... It's super simple! Here's how he explained it. :glasses:
Pretend like you are putting on a pair of jeans straight out of the dryer and all the metal and buttons are super hot and the top of them land right about where the scar line is and tighten that muscle just as you would to keep the hot button from touching you.... I was a little confused and didn't believe it... It WORKED!!! it gave me that control back over that muscle, started flattening things out, and my back started feeling better... :flowerforyou: it takes a little work to get just that area isolated but it's worth it!!!

LOL... I've never even been pregnant and I have the same "divided stomach" issue. *Sigh*, maybe one day our stomachs will unite LOL.

You guys are bumming me out:frown: I have had 2 c sections also, and I thought the 2 belly thing was just me being fat. Now you tell me that they may never become one, flat, sexy belly??? I guess I have to agree that the kids are worth it, but man.....

I have long ago said good-bye to a flat stomach! With my first son, will be 13 on the 24th of this month, weighed in at a hefty 10 lbs and 10 oz, natural delivery :noway: anyway, I got a seperated muscle down the center of stomach about an inch gap, I have been told nothing will help it just surgery. 2nd son was just 8 lbs and 15 oz., but still no hope for the belly and extra skin that is just there.

Hi all! new here, but actually have the same problem! I have 2 girls 6 & 7. no c-sections. Although getting pregnant 7 months after having my 1st probably didn't help!! Anyway, I don't care so much about the bottom( my baby pouch as I call it). It's the top I can't stand. It always hangs out over the top of my pants and no shirts seem to camoflauge it. I try wearing those empire waist shirts, you know the ones that flow out from under your :blushing: they just make me look pregnant. So I walk around hoping that I remember to keep my gut sucked in so it doesn't show as much! So if anyone does come up with any help to flatten it some I will be eternally grateful!
