Exercising while sick?

This week (and next week) my workouts have been (and will be) suffering. I have tried to keep up with my current workout program (Supreme 90 day. Like P90X but much cheaper) and had been doing well despite staying late at work and having projects to do at home. I have been working out 6 days a week, a combo of lifting and cardio for 30-50 mins. each day. This is my 3rd cycle. After my second cycle I tried to do a less intensive schedule of working out 4-5 times a week, but I really struggle with getting back to work after a rest day so it quickly dwindled to maybe a couple times a week.

I love feeling my muscles coming in and I love feeling fit and ready for everything, so I have tried to make up for missed workouts by pushing myself extra hard on the weekends. The past few weeks the stress of work has been wearing me down (in charge of props for the school play which goes up this thursday) and in addition my MiL has had surgery and needed extra support. After caring for her last weekend I got sick, probably from exhaustion. After a day of rest I felt much better until Friday. All weekend I have felt a bit feverish and have had a sore throat.

I am not so sick that I feel completely off the hook when it comes to exercise, but I feel pretty drained and don't want to hinder my recovery by pushing myself too hard. Maybe I need permission from internet strangers to take it easy and just do what I can?

TL;DR: If you have a cold do you push through, modify your workout, or take it easy?

By all means workout while you are sick but scale it back and eat your tdee or more. I say this because i had a similar experience
I lost 9 pounds while I was sick. But when i recovered it took me 6 weeks to start losing again. i didn't start losing weight again until I started eating back most of my exercise calories and throwing in a couple of cheat days.
