looking for friends who lift to be lean

Hey-yo out there in MFP land!

Short story on me: fat kid, obese young adult, started getting fit after my first child was born when I almost 12 years ago. Since then I had 2 more kids, lost -125 pounds (non-pregnancy weight) and have maintained that for a combined total of about 7 years.

I was a runner but had to give that up due to a series of injuries. I turned to cycling, swimming and sprint distance triathlon but due to various reasons have given up tri's for this year and just recently started swimming again after 10 months out of the water. My main form of cardio right now is distance cycling and time at the gym on the AMT (like an elliptical but more of a running stride).

I used to be very muscular from weight lifting/toning workouts at home (The FIRM videos) and previous time in the gym but have been out of the gym for about 5 years. Recently we started back again.

My goal is to not focus on weight loss but rather getting a bit leaner and overall both strength and muscle balance. I'm not looking to set any records with lifting crazy heavy amounts or really getting big muscles (for a woman). I have a number of joint issues I have to work around and protect so I don't end up in pain and with a set-back.

I'd love to find some friends (female preferably, but guys welcome) who are either new or experienced to "clean eating" as I am working to cut sugar, grains and most dairy from my diet and then slowly reintroduce some things back as well as beginner to intermediate weight lifting experience.

Please send a message with your friend request or reply with a message here. I tend not to confirm friend requests where I know nothing about the person or their goals. THANKS! Look forward to meeting you and supporting each other! :)

Hi there, im new to lifting, am really really really enjoying it! I would say I try to eat healthy wholesome food most of the time but will indulge if I feel like it, everything in moderation is my mantra! Feel free to add me, always nice making new friends!
