Should my rest day on insanity be exactly that.....a rest day? Or is it ok to still go for a run for a couple miles? Thanks!

Sometimes I still work out on my rest day. I usually just do a 30 min jog on those days. I see it as being a rest day from Insanity.0

From what I understand I don't think cardio counts on a rest day unless it's HIIT or something that is putting your muscles under stress. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
I lift 3x a week and for my "rest days" I run/walk (not a great runner yet) for 30min.0 -
I tend to do weight work and crunch's on my rest day from insanity.
Its not too difficult but helps me tone up the fat on my stomach and strengthen my arms for all the floor work.0 -
Not Insanity, but I'm doing Turbo Fire and I run on my rest days, that's usually when I do my longest run (only 4-5 miles at this point) because they days I run and do Turbo I only run 2-3 miles. I asked the same question and was told I should just rest, not even walk. That's not going to happen, I walk with the kids every day! It's so slow I just don't count it as exercise lol. Once every couple weeks I'll start to feel run down and take a day or two off, but I'm going to take advantage of the nice weather as much as I can.0
