Newish.

Just this past semester I had to do a seven day food diary and nutritional evaluation for a course on Health & Nutrition and found myself here. I already had a FitBit and was glad to see the accounts sync so effortlessly, and the process of logging my foods got me addicted since the database here is so much better than any other similar site I'd used in the past. Just finishing the semester and feeling pretty unhealthy, so I'm using the summer free from classes to focus on my health in all aspects. I did a 5k charity walk earlier today for a local agency who finds housing for the homeless and decided today would be day one of focusing on my health.

I'm a 31-year-old male living in Worcester, Massachusetts. I've always been a little overweight, but nearly a decade of working nights and taking poor care of myself left me quite fat. Prior to that I had been somewhat of a gym rat before my local, affordable gym went out of business. I know a lot about nutrition and exercise, but I haven't been applying it in the past several years. Since getting out of working nights I've lost about twenty-five pounds, but a busy lifestyle and frequent thoughtless take-out meals and massive soda consumption and occasional drinking prevent me from going any lower without making a conscious effort. So this is that. I currently weigh 325 at 6' and a fairly large frame and decent muscle mass and I'm looking to get down to an athletic-but-not-bulky build in the 15-20% body fat range, so I've set my initial goal at losing a hundred pounds in the next year.

Nice to meet y'all, good luck with your own goals.
