...If you only do it once a week. I was experimenting. I went a few weeks of sticking to eating "good" (well kinda) :blushing:
But I did stay away from the fast foods completly. What I did was as I stayed away from places I didn't have the urge to go to them that often.
I was maintaining weight and not really dropping.

Then I got a bright idea that i was doing so well and haven't actually cheated and just went for the fast food because it was there that I took one day with some friends and had In and out.. wow it was so tasty!!

I took my time with it, enjoyed every minute and did not feel guilty. I continued on with my day, ate a light dinner and weighed myself a few days later, I actually lost 2 pounds for that week!

I'm not saying go and get a burger everyday, that would be icky.. but I think the occasional "once a week cheat" is not bad. Saturday is the hardest for me, but I've been pretty good otherwise.

That's great! Sometimes it's good to shock your metabolism out of a rut with a higher cal meal. I think you are right. If you don't do it ALL the time, but just treat yourself once in awhile to a "cheat meal", it will be fine. I mean, it wasn't an occasional treat like that that got us overweight! It wasn't ONE meal of a burger, fries, etc..that got us to where we are. It was doing it ALL the time, and eating ALL the time, even when not hungry! As always, moderation is key! :)

    Glad you enjoyed yourself!

I would agree, actually they had one of those little pre-commercial info sessions with the trainers from Biggest loser, Bob, and he basically said the same thing. I do this sometimes, shocking the body can bring you out of a funk, the thing is, make sure you don't go right on doing it.

Side note: hey Ynot, 3 months here and still no picture, what's up?

Its so nice to know that you CAN cheat every now and then and still lose weight!...especially since my friend is getting married tomorrow and I'm looking forward to the food!!!

I've been eating fast food more often lately because of my schedule among other things and I find its alright if you eat in reason.

Whatever I have is within my calorie intake and with the least amount of transfat. Now, I don't order fries or soda but if I'm at Wendy's I order a small chili and an ultimate chicken grill without sauce or if I'm at Taco Bell I have something off the fresco menu. My nutritionist applauded my fast food choices.

If you're able to restrain yourself and make the right choices, then you're golden.

I agree, a cheat day is fine, we always have one, once a week, we also don't supersize anymore and if we're full from the burger we don't feel it's necessary to eat the fries! So we still get to eat the stuff we used to love but no longer go overboard!!

I wouldn't even call it a 'cheat' but rather a "treat" A little something extra once in awhile! Knowing that once in a while, (as in once a week for me) we can have a special meal, then we can feel so much more "normal" (for lack of a better word?) That we're not banned from those yummy treats every so often. It's unrealistic for most of us to never eat "unhealthy'" foods, or drinks:wink: ( daquiri sounds good right now! ) Just enjoy in moderation.

Mmm, love the Wendy's chili and have you tried the Taco Bell Fresco Chicken Border Bowl yet?? Delicious and SUPER filling for 350 cals.
