Finally did a low bar squat, what a difference

Tendinitis in my shoulders has kept me in high bar squat land since the day I started lifting barbells about 2 months ago. I am finally getting enough flexibility to attempt to get the bar in the low position. Wasn't expecting to squat today as I am on business travel in LA, but the hotel had a full power rack so I was happy. Started my squat warmups and kept working the bar down each set. Finally, on the first working set at 175 lbs, the bar slid down in the correct position and my elbows came up and it was trapped in the low bar position. Was excited, but 175 lbs was a new PR for me (I am weak), so I wasn't sure if this was a good idea. I went for it. Holy crap! Low bar works a completely new set of muscles that the high bar just glosses over: the glutes and hamstrings. I went down and launched out of the bottom and thought, "what the heck?". Then cranked out 3x5 at 175 lbs and felt great. I really like the more complete engagement the low bar squat offers. Hopefully my shoulders will cooperate and allow me to continue. Just had to share.

Should I expect to be able to squat more low bar vs. high bar?

I like the lowbar squat but I will alternate high bar and low bar from set to set.
