excersie and chronic pain?

My #1 pit fall is lack of exercise. I would love to hear from some people who have chronic pain who still manage to work through it. The worse thing that happens if I push too hard or do any kind of incline is severe muscle spasms (really bad ones) So I have to take it really easy, I have been afraid to work out for so long that I can only use three lb dumbbells. I am so out of shape. I also have bulging disks in my neck and nerve pain. The less I do the less I hurt, but I want more than that for my self. I have seen a doctor. I know there are things I can do I just need to know where to stop and I really need encouragement. I really would love to hear from others who have made it through and are strong and healthy. Thanks so much. BIG loves
for the help

You can friend me. I have chronic pain and some exercise helps - like it tells my body this is sore for a reason. But when pain is high for no reason my workouts suffer and I lose strength rapidly. I can lose a lot of strength quickly due to a flare which is frustrating but when my body works as I expect it helps me to tolerate some pain...0
