Okay so hopefully I'm not repeating a question asked recently but I need some help. I know that one cup is equivalent to 8 ounces however did I really just eat 8 ounces / 760calories of spaghetti noodles??? I don't have a scale nor one of those pasta tools to tell you how much in one serving so I just cooked some and when they cooked scooped some into a measuring cup (1 full cup) and ate that. Is that really 8ounces or more like 2ounces?

Sorry if this is confusing, I confused myself! :(

I can't help you much, but i know on other noodle boxes the nutrition facts are based on "dry" noodles- obviously the noodles get a little bigger after being cooked- i looked this up via google:

"According to the National Pasta Association , 8 ounces of uncooked long pasta, such as spaghetti will yield 4 cups of cooked pasta. Thus, a "serving" of 2 oz. uncooked spaghetti will be the nutritional equivalent of 1 cup of cooked spaghetti."

So if I thinking this through right- you ate 1/2 cup of "dry" spaghetti

I always thought it was 2 oz. was 1/2 cup. If it's a cup, I need to adjust my calories for tonight! :)

1 cup uncooked = 2 cups cooked macaroni

4 oz. dry spaghetti = 2 1/2 cups cooked spaghetti

depends on what type of pasta too
