Pain while power-walking/jogging

Every time I do my routine my shins hurt and my ankle goes numb. It feels weird when I try and wiggle it side to side. I'm not sure if this means I am pushing myself too hard or if my shoes aren't the right kinds? My shoes are walking/running shoes that I got from a proper store. Any ideas?

I had same problem only with my shins(splints). Never had ankle go numb. Anyways I Got 2 different pairs of $120+ nike shocks and they were garbage shins still hurt and the soles always fell off (bad glue?). Got Reebok zigs for $75 and no more shin pain.0
