I have a dance weekend coming up overseas which presents a rather unique situation in terms of food planning...so am looking for any ideas of good food for the following situation:

- overseas so I can't really take much with me (customs plus carryon only) so have to buy once I'm there (in Australia)
- will be in dance classes 4 hours a day Sat and Sun
- the dances at night go from 8pm to about 4am, four nights in a row (th fr sat sun), and often are in places where we're not supposed to bring in our own food.
- will be dancing heaps! as mentioned above so will probably need to get quite a few calories in I guess.
- busy and staying somewhere with relatively limited kitchen prep facilities so not much time / space to put together lunches

So any good suggestions for lunches, snacks, etc to keep me going? I guess they primarily need to be stuff that don't need much preparation and don't need any refrigeration etc.

All I can think of is fruit and muesli bars..dried fruit / nuts I guess...?

Where in Australia are you going to be?

Melbourne. Are you an Aussie? Whereabouts are you from?
