More like failed attempts at weight loss!

Hello everyone :) I've been scoping this site out for awhile now without introducing myself. I'm 28 and sick of my current weight. I had lost roughly 30 lbs right after I had my son in 2011, but, lack of will power and determination plumped me back up to my current weight. Ugh!

My best friend is getting married in April of 2014 and my goal is to shed as much weight as I can (in a healthy and safe manor) before April 14. That is the final dress fitting. The other 3 bridesmaids are already thin and I do not want to be the sausage link between 3 carrot sticks. LOL. I also want to ensure that my life is spent in a happy and healthy state. Definitely not where I am today. My son deserves to have a healthy Momma around and I deserve to give myself the best life I can. My overall weight loss goal is 95-100 lbs.

What about everyone else?

I know how you feel. When you say weight loss goal 95-100 lbs, you mean you want to BE 95-100 or you want to LOSE 95-100?

I'm 220 lbs atm, I want to get to around 155 - 165 lbs, depending on how much muscle I happen to put on. Adding you

It's so frustrating. For my husband dropping 10 lbs is literally effortless. I feel like that SlimQuick commerical. LOL

Haha! I should have clarified a bit. I want to lose 95-100. That would bring me down to a healthy BMI and within the weight range for my height. My wonderful doctor suggested I set my goal to be anywhere from 150-164 lbs. I guess it would make more sense to put a weight loss of 85-100 lbs.

I see. Yes, I understand. I would hate to be a woman trying to lose weight. Men have some extraordinary advantages in this regard due to higher muscle mass which increases our base metabolic rate. On top of that... fasting is unhealthy for women, but healthy for men.... :-/ I admire you for attempting this even though you're at a disadvantage. I'll lend you my experience any time you need. ( I do a lot of research on fitness and nutrition)

I am working on 50 lbs to lose at this time. Wow. I can't imagine almost 100. That is amazing and worth going for!

Indeed it is amazing, since women need less calories per day, this is equivalent (approximately ) to a man trying to lose 150 pounds - not easy

It's insane that I let myself get to where I am. I think at my smallest point, I was 20 lbs away from goal!! Lawwwd... where did my will power go? Oh right.. down the hatch with a handful of M&Ms.

I've been at my current weight (minus 5-10 lbs) for almost 1.5 years. I'm lucky in the sense that the weight is proportioned evenly throughout my body, so if you were to see me, you'd never guess I'm the weight I am.

I need to get healthier and I think with the help of all of the MFP community, my personal determination (not to mention the wedding in less than a year) I can do it.
