Hello Everybody!

Hey Everyone! I'm Jimmy, and I've been using MFP for over a year (mainly the app) and never realized there was the community side to the website!

I'm going to start off by saying that I am guilty of following fad diets, and gimmicky plans (anyone read Tim Ferris's 4 Hour Body, talk about gimmicky). In the past year I've gone up and down in weight (as high as 260 and as low as 203) trying different things. I'm now at 248 and ready to get to work on some serious lifestyle changes. The funny thing is that my diet is solid, I don't drink soda, I drink an almost unhealthy amount of water (at least 4 liters while at my desk at work), and eat plenty of fruits and veggies along with my lean protein(salmon, chicken, etc.). I rarely eat processed foods and almost all of my carbs come from whole grains.

Where my short comings come is my workouts. I've never been one to do a ton of cardio (which I am now learning might be a good thing), but focus on weight training, when I actually get to the gym. The worst part about it, is that I work for a non-profit organization that runs health and wellness/ fitness centers.

My goal is to get down under 200 lbs. My plan: Intermittent Fasting, specifically 16/8 fasting, and following the Engineering the Alpha plan. Like I said, my diet doesn't need too much tweaking, its my workouts (and I mean Workout frequency).
