Hi All!
My name is Ashley. I am 24 years old, living in Boston. I currently am 5'8" and weigh 118 lbs. During the last year I completely changed my diet and lost a good chunk of weight. I am eating really healthy now (No fast foods, fried foods, sweets, coffee, soda, nothing with too much sugar, lower carbs (I was a HUGE carb junkie), and nothing after 7pm).
Now that my diet is so much better and I am looking good as far as "thinness", I want to start adding more excise to tone up. I would really like to set a goal to enter a bikini competition. I think it would be a good motivator. I would love to hear if anyone has any tips for someone looking to get into the competition circuit.
I am definitely on a budget so I would love to hear if anyone has used an online trainer/coach/program that worked well? Also, how long do you think it would take someone my size to tone up and enter a novice competition? My biggest concern is that I have IBS so I can not really alter my diet too much further.
I would really just love any advice or to hear others experience in doing bikini competitions! Thanks!

Hello! I'm looking to do the same thing (as far as setting a goal to be in a bikini comp). Maybe we can share tips and stuff to help each other? I am also 24 but a little taller and heavier. Lets do it!0

Also venturing into the world of bikini competitions! I've done a couple smaller bikini contests, but my first big/publicized one will be in August. Very daunting but it's definitely a motivator like you said..
I can't really recommend any particular online program, but my best advice is to hit the weights. Simple and cheap as it gets, really.
In my experience, it's who you know that will get you in. Surprising, but true. Also, look and see what's going on in your local area and just sign up wherever to get some experience. Posing on stage seems like a breeze, but the first few times were terrifying for me, haha. The more comfortable you get, as well as the more practice you have in terms of your poses and stage presence, the better it will be.
Good luck on your journey!0
