Fruits and Timing -Will it Affect Weight Loss?

So I've heard that since fruits are simple carbohydrates they take longer to digest etc etc, so you shouldn't eat them after 3 pm if you're planning to lose weight? But the thing is, I remember once eating an apple around six, and then a few weeks later a plum around 11 pm, ten minutes before I went to bed.. and I still lost that week? It isn't a regular thing for sure but I'm wondering, does it make a difference in the long run? My dad used to eat fruit in the middle of the night allll the time and he never gained a single pound all these years, but he DID keep it on his stomach just a bit, which is what I want to get rid of. Will it affect my losing fat on my stomach? Hoping some of you can dispel this myth! Thank you

Overthinking things. Create a deficit, profit0 -

It's a matter of scale.
Is it going to undo a 250 calorie deficit? No.
Would you notice a difference between eating it late and not eating it late on a 500 calorie deficit? No.
Is it going to help if you are trying to go from 6% body fat to 5% body fat? Probably. Along with everything else being right on.0 -

And this body fat percentage decrease would probably affect my weight loss in the stomach area right? (since most of my fat is there, it seems). So basically as I get closer to my goal weight, and my stomach starts to shrink more and more, I need to follow the no carbs after 3 pm rule?0 -
I would say until your body fat is in the mid single digits don't worry about it. It won't make a difference that you can see. The people going from 6% to 5% or lower are serious competitors with a whole battery of nutritional aids.
Have you ever gotten in a water tank to calculate your body fat %?
Have you ever had your BMR clinically tested?
Have you ever had your VO2 Max clinically tested?
Have you ever had your calorie burn rate at 65% max HR tested?
Every single one of those things by themselves would have more effect than some fruit at night will.0 -
Oh wow well as a female I don't plan on letting my body fat level go into the single digits. I just want to have a healthy, lean look and a toned stomach. I guess I don't have much to worry about then. Thank you so much.0
