Body by you: you are your own gym

I just saw some posts about the body by you training program. It looked intriguing so I bought it today. (Specifically the one designed for women, but mostly because I didn't realize there was another one. I was wondering who else out there is doing it and what kinds of results you have been seeing. Please feel free to add me if you are doing it so we can support each other!

Hi, I have the You Are Your Own Gym book and app (have mainly used the app, it is really nice). I started out doing the beginner program but now I just sort of pick and choose from the exercises and try to incorporate different upper body pushes and pulls and quad and hamstring stuff -- I work out at home 3x/wk with body weight, kettle bell and pull up bar. I have been eating at a deficit but still my strength has improved and i am definitely sore after. I really like some of the ideas he has for how to use things you have around the house (like the 'let me ins' on the door and the 'let me ups' under a desk). I wonder how the one for women is different?0

I have the YAYOWG app but I keep putting it off. After my 5k on June 2nd I'm switching my running time for YAYOWG time 3x/week. I'd love to add you as a friend for additional motivation when I start up shortly.0

All I know I that no equipment is required. It seems similar but it assigns you what to do until you perfect it and then you move on to the next exercise. I haven't seen the regular one to compare it. When you say you eat at a deficit, does that mean you don't eat your calories back?0

It sounds similar, I think the BBY version might have more mini-steps to modify the exercises to make it easier to progress (from what I can tell). There is a YAYOG/BBY group on here, I just found and joined it!
I just mean I am eating below maintenance -- I don't track exercise calories, I just figured out my maintenance for an average day and have been keeping slightly under that (for the most part). Its harder to "build muscle" that way but you can still get stronger.0 -
I've been doing Body By You for 7 weeks now. I've taken almost 2 inches off my hips, more than an inch off my thighs and calves. It works.
I can feel I'm getting stronger, and I like it.0
